Tim has been a member of the CDCA for over 6 years and began as a
volunteer for the College Fair Committee as a graduate student at the
College of Saint Rose. He spent last year as the President Elect
of the CDCA and he is excited to take on the role of President this
year.
Tim
earned his Maters of Science degree in Education (School Counseling) from the
College of Saint Rose, Bachelors in Arts degree in Psychology from the
University at Albany and an Associates of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from
Hudson Valley Community College. He spent the 2006-2007 school year as a
school counselor at Graham High School in North Carolina before returning to the
area and accepting a position at Notre Dame – Bishop Gibbons School where he has
been serving as the Director of Guidance for the past 5 years. |

Katie is in her second year as the VP for Professional Development for
CDCA. Currently, Katie works at Siena College as an Associate
Director of Admissions. She has worked at Siena for 8 years
recruiting the New England region and most recently Maryland and
Virginia. I received my BS in Marketing from Siena in 2001 and my MBA
from Sage Graduate College in 2009. I look forward to another
exciting year of programs for CDCA! |

Becky is an Admissions Counselor at Hudson Valley Community College
from 2008 to the present. She holds a dual masters degree in
Childhood Education and Literacy and has served as the Capital
District Counseling Association (CDCA) Recording Secretary from
2011-2012 and is a member of State University of New York
College Admission Profession (SUNYCAP)

As Associate Director of
Admissions at Schenectady County Community College, I bring over 20 years
of experience to the CDCA Executive Board. I have previously served CDCA as
Vice-President, President, NYCA Delegate and Past-President, and have served on
many committees over the years. We look forward to a busy and challenging year,
and hope to involve all Capital District Counselors in the Association
activities.

Carly has been a member of Capital District Counseling
Association for 13 years and is currently serving as Treasurer and Committee
Chair for the Administrative Assistance Luncheon. Previously, Carly served as
NYCA Delegate, VP of Programming, Trustee for Committees, Scholarship Chair,
College Fair Committee Chair and President of CDCA. Carly earned her MBA
from Sage Graduate School and a Bachelors degree in Management from Hartwick
College. She currently works out of her home as an Admissions
Representative for Johnson & Wales University, recruiting students from upstate
New York to attend the University. Carly has been working in higher
education for 15 years.

Chelsea is a dedicated high school counselor at Schenectady CSD.
She has served as the Chair of Committees for almost three years and
enjoys bringing the committees work to the membership of CDCA. She
is currently building a home with her husband and dog. |

Gloria is an adjunct instructor
for the College of Saint Rose. She was Director of K-12 Counseling Services for
Niskayuna and an elementary, middle and high school counselor at several Capital
District school districts, with most of her career at
Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk. She serves on the NYSSCA Board as Government Relations
Co-Chair and liaison to NYSED.. She was CDCA President in 2010-2011 and
continues as Past President and Webmaster. She enjoys traveling, songwriting,
singing with her husband and staying involved with her two grown daughters.

Colleen is a high school
counselor at Troy CSD. She has served on various committees for CDCA
including the College Fair and Bus Trip. School counseling is a second
career for Colleen who is a life long resident of Troy and proud mother of two
sons.

The purposes of the Capital
District Counseling Association are:
-
To advance the discipline of counseling,
guidance, and personnel work; to conduct and foster programs of
education in the field of counseling, guidance, and personnel work; to
advance high standards of professional conduct; to conduct, educational,
and professional meetings and conferences.
-
In
accordance with those of the American Counseling Association and are
intended to promote the national and state purposes at the local level
in the Capital District area of New York State, which includes the
counties of Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Montgomery, Greene,
Rensselaer, Schenectady, and the southern part of Saratoga.
-
To unite in one local organization
those persons who are engaged professionally in any phase of counseling,
guidance, and personnel work, or counselor education in the Capital
District;
-
To cooperate with local public and
private agencies in their guidance and personnel activities.
